Well Kscarguy, She is sort of understanding, not sure she has noticed it yet.I hung all the Christmas lights and changed a bunch of light fixtures in the house that I had been putting off. She was so giddy, maybe she is just ignoging it. She might figure it out tomorrow, because I had to park her daily driver in the middle bay, as winter is coming in full tilt tomorrow. -20C 50 km/hr wind and 25cm of the white stuff. I started stripping everything off the ch***is and there seems to be some fluids that hit the floor.

    Barry,
My wife was in tucks of laughter when I showed her the picture. As you said a mans got to do, what a mans got to do!!!!

How about painting it red and dressing it up like Santas sledge, and just say he over shot the mark.

Thanks mate that so brillant, now Carol (wife) has seen it she has said that my grey canopy on the front drive is "A" okay ,

Finally uploaded some of the concept doodles today.
Concept design- 4 foot sleeper for those quick getaways. Flat deck will have room for KLR and PWC. Skirts will cover rear wheels.

Concept design-want to have a modular platform built like construction scaffolding so when I am at B'Ville, I have a good view. All panels will store up against the headache rack at the front of the flat deck. Sleeper is 4 feet wide. Seating for a couple grandsons, and hopefully a bench seat that folds to a comfortable bed. ***mins diesel will be below sleeper.

Looks real neato . There that makes it old and HAMB friendly , lol But I like it a lot . Finished cutting down my sleeper today and will post some photos on my spot . Getting away for winter any time soon ? Like the b-ville shade , my fav. place . Blue

  11. I've always thought a telescopic crows nest might be a neat idea. Go to a show, run up the platform, crawl up and get a different perspective! About 30' should do it.

I like the sleeper formed to the same shape as the cab, and the skirts.

    A telescopic platform...hmmm, isn't that called a fire engine?

I had considered one of these, but hauling all that weight around just does not make sense. Although you sure could go see a lot of drive in movies for free :)

  14. kscarguy,
Shucks, my fire truck didn't have one! Maybe God was watching out for me. LOL
I have seen cranes and fire trucks at antique truck shows with their booms extended.
I had thought one could go out on the back roads, raise the platform and look around for old tin. Would work well in the Dakotas and Montana.

It is odd to see such a big truck with such light duty rear springs. I had to pull out leaves to make mine like those.

Time is slipping by, have been busy parting out the two wrecks and sending parts all over the place. While surfing the net, I found another project to work on. Should help with some of the concept ideas for the full size.

Not much going on here Scott. Family issues to deal with, too fricken cold to go outside. And I can come up with a bunch more excuses. Got the cab off the donor ch***is, pulled the motor, ripped off all the ABS ****. Would like to put my COE cab on the donor ch***is, but like I said, -35 degrees is not my temperature for working. Supposed to be warmer this weekend, so hope to post some progress.

Not sure what happened when we got transitioned to the new site, but all my pics got lost. Redid all of them so know its on to bigger and better stuff. Lost a lot of time this winter due to my daughter being involved with a total ****head. Had to move her home, spend a whole bunch of time in court getting restraining orders, and gaurdianship orders. Built a new bathroom and bedroom and all her belongings were taking up most of the space in my shop. Also lost my dad in May after he suffered a major stroke in March. Lots of weekends spent driving up to Edmonton to be with him before he p***ed. Hopefully that is the last of the **** that I need to deal with this year, and I can get to work on the lumber wagon. Pulled all the sheet metal and "stuff" off the front of my organ donor truck. 2002 Dodge with ***mins 24v and 6 speed standard behind it. Hopefully next week I will have the engine out and start making mounts to get it in the new ch***is. This is the parts truck. It was stolen and used in a smash and grab robbery. Runs great. Sold the door, hood, front bumper and left fender to my neighbor already. Hopefully sell some more stuff to recover some $$$$

  23. Glad to see spring finally happened in your neck of the woods! LOL Sorry to hear that you lost your dad, that is never easy.
That Dodge looks better than most that old, did you pick it up from a police auction, insurance company, or?
I got the lost pictures problem also, don't want to take the time to fix, rather be working on my project. LOL

Great to have you back Barry, so sorry to hear about your problems.
Hope your daughter is okay now.
So sorry about your Dad, mine p***ed away 24 years ago but I still miss him we were best buddies and business partners for 22 years.
That donor truck looks better than my daily driver!!
    Look forward to seeing progress

Wow Barry, very sorry to hear about the family issues. Hope your daughter is doing well now and will be able to pick a better guy next time.

The months I spent 12 to 18 hours a day sitting with my Dad until he died last September were hard and also what fueled my p***ion for COE's. When he fell asleep I studied these trucks. You guys unknowingly became my mentors and escape from "real" life.

Let me also say that I am very sorry to hear of your Dads illness and p***ing. I know you've hard a hard several months

Steve.....bought the Dodge truck from a guy that owned the truck when it was stolen. He took it as part of the insurance settlement, but found it was going to be too much h***le to repair, and recertify it.
Blue....already have a 59 dash, but thanks for the offer.
