used to mate an olds hydro to a ford Y block. anybody got one or one of the pieces? i could use detailed photos and measurements to make my own. help an asshole out.
thanks, i don't see a hydro listed. i'll give them a call to see if they can steer me in the right direction
They will pop up from time to time. Set an alert on eBay until one comes available. Check with mutant55 on here. He might have one.
Check in with the Hydro Group here on the HAMB. There was a Ford adapted Hydro stick for sale in the classifieds as well, but I think it was for an FE, and I don't know enough about Fords to know what fits what with them. I am Butch/56sedandelivery.
FEs and Ys are not the same on the back end. B&M used to do 'in house' mods of everything Hydra Matic. Then, something changed... Sometime in the early '50s, Ford Motor Co's supplier of Ford and Merc-O-matic transmissions had a huge fire, and for a couple of years Fords and Mercs (Lincolns also?) came with Cad/Olds type Hydra matics. I used to service some of those during my apprenticeship, recall seeing a couple of them at the wrecking yard. (1960 or so) If there was a factory bell & flex plate to be had, that would be your solution.
