Ok, I need your advice, I just discovered that my 53 210 has a 235 babbit, I believe, engine S/N LAA852882. I have only owned the car for a few months. My question for you all is this. Should I pull it and drop something else in place? I will only be driving this car on the weekends and occasional weekend drives down the highway to a buddys house about 3 hours away. Just looking for your advice.:D

if it runs good, and you keep the r's down i wouldnt worry too much. but i would keep my eyes open for a full oiler, and a PG rear as you can find em for nothing or next-to-nothing.also if the cars originally powerglide equiped and is running the og motor its already a full oiler.
there should be 4 digits behind the starter. it'll be a letter, then two or three numbers, . these are the ones that will tell ya what you've got in there. the letter indicates the month it was made A= january b=february...etc. the last number indicates the year , and the numbers in between indicate the day. Example: mine says L, or december, 22, or the twenty second, and 3, meaning 1953.... engines produced towards the end of the year are often the following years model
