I was a member a few years back when I had my 1939 Chev.
The Chev. was my keepmyselfbusy car.
With the help of many members of this site I was able to get it running,
and enjoyed it for several years.
The Chev. was sold and I moved on to other things.
The other things have gone full circle and now I am back thinking about another old car.
This time I want an earlier one...Ford Model A, B, or maybe even a T.
And I'm not just stuck on Ford.
I am also considering Chev.,Dodge, or what ever might work that I can afford.
Did I say afford? Yep, I'm on a very low budget.
    No longer a**** the employed.
So...we will see what comes along.

Hi Bob & welcome. Model A's are plentiful in nearly all areas of the country if you know where to look. Same with most other brands. Being on low budget you just have to stay away from the rust buckets & such as those of frozen engines can quickly turn into high budget as parts & labor are just not cheap anymore. It is all high budget if you cannot do all the work yourself.
Back in 1960 I got the itch for a Model A restored original. Stuff was everywhere back then and very low budget. I ended up buying 3 parts cars to make just one. Recall I had less than $175 in all 3 and I did a garage overhaul on the best engine for around $60. I chose to build up the 31 roadster from parts from the others as it did not have fenders. Each front fender had the spare tire well & one had a rumble seat & so on. Had the engine in and ready to run, sanded & primed and ready to finish paint the body. Had the seat but no top bows but just had not looked for that yet but were easily avalible. Was doing tis while living a garage Apt with a 3 car garage to use Changed job and bought a house & it just had a single car carport so no place to do anything or keep the A out of the weather so traded the A stuff for a good used pickup for work truck. All that stuff just was not worth much at all back then. Good luck, Jimmie
