    Wow.
When I said, "more later", I didn't expect it to be this much later.

Had a lot to deal with.

    Now...

I think maybe I'll keep the Chrysler.
    :)

Nice find. I do believe that someone is re-popping the carb linkage.

A big heavy car needs a lot of low RPM torque.
    This Long Ram will help.
And it looks cool and it'll add some personality to the project.

Some good examples there. How much rot do you have in the choke wells? Generally not too hard to repair unless they are really bad.

The first picture I posted of the setup with the carburetors turned out to be too rotted.

I went for an hour drive this morning and bought the one that got me started on all this. More money. No carbs. But very good condition. No rot.

    Holley carburetors fit.
Maybe my old velocity stacks will finally have something to do. They're the only thing left from my '70 Roadrunner that got stolen nearly 50 years ago.

Your build plans reminded me of this video I saw on youtube just a few days ago. I think you will find it interesting

    Thanks Mike.
I've seen that. And you're right, I did I find it very interesting. I've watched all the videos and read everything I could find on the long ram intakes.
I like how both Nick's Garage and Engine Masters talked about how the torque was in "diesel territory".

Now I gotta talk a little.

I don't wanna go on and on about it. I'm hoping to be past all of it for a while. But I sure was sick and hurting for the last 3 years or so.

I've heard some HAMB members talking about other members' "excuses" for not getting out to the shop.
    Yeah, well...
YOU try having rotator cuff surgery, a heart attack and covid in quick succession. I could hardly scratch my ass. Could NOT comb my hair. But I'll have you know... I still cut and collected firewood and did whatever else I had to do around here for Judy and the animals. (mostly one-handed) I just couldn't hardly do anything of what I wanted to do.

Btw... my right side was hurt and I'm right handed. Luckily, I'm fairly ambi-dextarious. And now I can throw a frisbee left-handed for Katie dog almost as good as right-handed. Still throw a ball left-handed like a girl, though.

Anyway, I started feelin' better, but then suddenly had to go a couple of rounds with afib and a couple quick trips to the hospital.
Finally, foot surgery. Took me off my feet for months. Lotsa pain.

I'm doin' way bedda now. It's been a slow recovery but I took the stairs two at a time the other day. I'm feeling good enough that I just might fire up the weight machine and start using it.
    Raaaaaaar, mfs! LOL
    Well........... thank you, God.

I did manage to seek out and acquire a number of vintage parts during my downtime. So that's good.

But what it also afforded me was time to think. And I thunk the shit out of it. LOL
I thunk about my 1926 Dodge roadster project and how I can do all that. Or not.
I thunk about this Chrysler and whether it's worth my efforts. Or not.
I thunk about whether I should just get rid of everything.
    Again. :(
    Or not.

    My decision...

I'm not giving up. In fact, I think I might keep both projects. If I don't have time to finish them both, I don't flucking care. It's not the destination, it's the journey.
    And I'm journeying.

This intake manifold came along and inspired me for the Chrysler. And I have the 6x2 for the roadster.

Gotta start lookin' around for another motorhome with a low mileage 440... :D

    Hey, Ricky;
Glad you're feeling better. I can relate to a F'd-body. ;( . Interesting how the mind works in response... :) .
Since you now own (1!) set of cross-rams, but have *2* projects w/chrys mills, that other set is *really calling* your name to go on the '26. You know it needs them - don't want bad feelings twixt the 2 cars, now do we??? :D . &, you now have patterns to build the expensive linkage(s) for the 2nd set. Win! Just don't use dinky little aircleaners on them, no point in starving the mill for air.
    Marcus...

    Thanks Marcus. LOL
    No, we won't starve it.
How about fresh air intake ducts from the headlight openings to the carburetors?

  15. Gee, I don’t know you from Adam’s housecat, but I’m GLAD to hear that you’re recovering, mentally, emotionally and physically. Thanks for sharing.
I’ve been through the down side enough to feel that whirlpool of total despair and depression.
And it looks like you’ve come through it!
Your friends, your little buddy Zander to mentor, your optimism to do another car, your miraculous save of the Chrysler from that idiot, and your moving forward on it, are all positive examples of your spirit and determination.
Keep claiming the small victories! Claim Philippians 4:13 as well.
And know that your HAMB family is pulling for you and proud of your progress.
    Keep us up to date.
    Bill

For me, it comes.down to this... if I no longer enjoy working on my projects, then they will go. Until that happens, I'm still working away on them. At MY pace.

    Thanks for the encouragement.

Adapting to life is one thing.
Adapting one of these intakes to a 401 AMC engine? Whoa. LOL
Somebody in the other thread showed one of these adapted to a Lincoln engine.

  23. Ricky, what did we talk about, the journey consist of time and as the old song goes, "Time is on my side" not anymore!

The more projects you have the slower the journey ~ just saying. HRP

Yup. I posted that last year. But now I have this cool Plymouth Coupe. And I'll just end up resenting anything that would slow me down. I made my decision and you helped me to make it. You just beat me to posting about it by about a half hour LOL.

    Change of plans.

I'm selling this project so I can give all my attention to the 1931 Plymouth Coupe I just bought. "Can't do 'em all." So I'll let somebody else do something with it.
    Goodbye old Chrysler.
