sorry.....sounds like you moved to austin and lost your, time, money, space, and ability to build your car. I too was offered a job in austin some years back , but I decided to stay where i know what my future is,and damned glad I did. the resentment I would have towards the change and the people would surely break me down. besides i have never had money and dont need any where i am from,.....

i'll get back on track. i own an auto detailing business, and that has to take first priority...after three years here, i am finally beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel. the location of my first shop here was ideal for working on the car,,,it had a kickass garage. i moved to a better (ie more visible) location for the business, but have no garage,,just a carport, which i need for my detailing work, i am ACTIVELY looking for a shop to share so i can get back on the car..shop space is extremely hard to find here, but i am nothing if not persistant, and i know i WILL find something,,,i do have a couple of irons in the fire, but nothing has quite panned out yet,,it kills me not to be working on the car..

not yet, i'm sorry to say,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,been a year at this point since i've worked on her..........frustrating as hell to say the least..........lots of extra work to contend with when i do finally get back to it,,as it is sitting outside under a car cover,,i can see the rust stains bleeding through. at the time, i had expected to be back to it before too long, and didn't prime many of the bare metal areas....

    Hey Jim,

I know what a drag ''mothballed'' projects can be, it's a bitch doin the adult thing ( paying bills etc.) when the kid says " I jus wanna do what I wanna do'' :D I've rolled primer and even just boiled linseed oil over bare metal to stop the rust on raw welds and sheet before. Rust can be a real bitch to kill if left unchecked sometimes:(

One day soon, you'll be back on this project, it's like a hot chick you wanna hit again, it's just a question of timing:D

Good luck and have a good holiday-

" A government by the people, for the people " my ass !

  11. We all feel your pain, Jim. Hell, mine has more or less been sitting for 17 years (most of it in someone else's possession.
