    Hey guys,

Been reading the HAMB for a year or so so now after the guy who taught me most of what I know about cars told me about it. Good tech and lots of great advice. I bought my first car when I was 16 eight years ago, a 1951 Chieftain. Loved that car. Blew the motor being stupid, the seals in the hydro had gotten hard and since 1st gear is so low and I was late to work a piston exploded. Worked on it off and on till a tree fell on it during and ice storm. Last fall saw a good deal in a 1950, I had all the parts I thought I'd ever need (can never have enough) so I bought it. I spent last weekend installing new brakes and cruising it. This weekend my buddies 54 buick is comming out of storage and we should be cruising central Iowa.

Thanks for the GREAT info and website. see ya all out there.

    P.S.
I know there ain't much out there for the straight-8 but any ideas would be appreciated. I was thinking log manifold, and dual headers, already got the alum. pistons, and full rebuild. Wanted to relieve the bock and mill the head 30-50 thou.

Any other ideas would be welcomed.

    Thanks
