Hell no, I sometimes wonder if it will EVER be done, jeez! It's crazy how some of the small detail projects eat up time.

Thanks man, I appreciate. I still want to race your coupe:D

Dam fine metal work too bad you couldn't leave it exposed to let everybody see it. Looks like a hot rod now not a pile of parts... good stuff.

Dan.. great to see more progress.
    Wonderful work as usual.
And the bead-roller trick is killer. I can't draw a straight line with a ruler.

You had given me measurements at one time for the A truck I started. That was appreciated... :)
Since then I have set the A aside until more parts show up.
I dug up a bunch of T parts and have begun a T build (27 Tudor is the plan).
I see your stuff once in a while that your dad posts on TBucketeers.
    You guys sure have talent...

Dan let me be the 11,357 HAMBER to congratulate you on the excellent work. I am doing the interior sheetmetal on my project and have developed an appreciation for clean, well fit sheetmetal construction. Your's looks excellent.

One question what do you plan to do where the door's meet the channeled subframe of the car body? Does the door seal against the vertical face of the subframe? I assume as it sits right now there is a small space between the door and the subframe and you can see the ground. Is this true?

I will make a post of my sheetmetal interior soon so you can see how a "free styler" gets it done with the bead roller. I like your guide idea. I would have liked it even more if you would have posted it 4 weeks ago! :D

Are you accepting pre-orders for this book and is it available in hard back? Also, will you be covering advance bead rolling where you learn how to hammer out the bead that wasn't straight?;):D:p HAHA!

Great car....proportion, perfect tire sizes, stance, a bit of a rake, oh yeah, straight bead rolls!

    Awesome.

Thank you all a bunch, I honestly appreciate it a ton! It is nice to see it start to resemble a car finally. There aren't too many pieces still held on by vice-grips & c-clamps, so that's a good thing!

Sheet metal work is not my strength-fake it til you make it for me!
I gotta check out your progress, that is awesome that you are to that point.

Good eye on the door seal. I am still going to have to build a little something that mounts to the channeled section that will slip under the lower edge of the door to seal it up. I can put a seal on it that will butt up to the door bottom keep out dirt/water etc. That will hopefully be a pretty simple project. It is tough with it being channeled so far.

Funny that you should mention, I just so happen to have such a thing. Reserve your copy today, autographed copies are available at an additional cost:D:D:D:D:D:D:

Well I've made a little more progress lately. I needed to get some seats, so I went on the hunt for some bomber seats. My problems with most were the size. Being channeled so far, any sitting low (making for a big driveshaft tunnel) made it tough to find a seat that would fit. And it was tough to find a seat that a liked appearance-wise.

I did find Mike @ Mercurio's Hot Rod Alley, and I'm glad I did. Not trying to spam, but the guy was great to deal with, and made seats to the dimensions that I needed. Great service, and the seats are really nice!!
I don't know if he is a Hamb'er, if he's not he should be!

    Here's a pic of a seat:

Then I started to build my interior panels. I like a bare-bones look, so I want aluminum door panels. I cut these from .063 3003 aluminum. Most use .050, but I wanted these a little thicker. I also got all the interior panels mounted as well. Here's a few pics of that:

I am kicking around how I want to finish the aluminum interior panels. I want them clean & simple, and I built a steel door panel earlier to figure out how I wanted to do the real thing. This is what I came up with, & I think it will work. I will carry the beaded panels over to the other panels to tie it together.

I need to quickly learn how to buck rivets to finish the door panels:eek:
I still need to cut out all the ovals & roll beads in them.

    Thanks for looking guys

    Dan

Thanks guys! kieran, I used to set all kinds of "goals" to finish this thing, & I have missed them all by a mile (or ten)

Between work and everything else it gets tough to make enough time sometimes. The best I can say now is "soon", I don't want to jinx myself:D:D

Dodgerodder, the RPU is really looking great!

I really love the stance and think the bed length is perfect which gives the whole car a nice co-ordinated sort of look!

You have really set the bar for us all just like I have said for many others.

I was going to say congratulations, but just like you said, I can see the light at the end of the tunnel and I'll congratulate you when it's done!

Keep us informed on the last home stretch!

    HC.

Speak of the devil! Your ears must be burning, I was just talking with my dad about you. I could definitely use some pointers on bucking rivets, & I know that you are great at it! I am not sure exactly what I will need to do this....

I am assuming a rivet gun, bucking bar, and a million rivets. I am just lacking the know-how ( and tools) to get it done. I could try a 20lb sledge.........

Any advice that you have is 100% welcome, I am clueless!! Plus, this is really all your fault anyways. If I didn't have to see all of your beautiful aluminum work in your coupe I wouldn't be in this predicament
    :D:D

False, and falser!!:D:D I am just too stubborn to know when to call it quits!!

Thank you HC, I appreciate! I like the full length bed on this too, it worked out ok. I will definitely keep posting as I move along. It's getting close, but still lots of stuff left-it seems to never end:p
