Thanks Ben! I got the 4-bar from Pete-n-Jakes. they sell the bars separately, which worked good for me since I made my own brackets. They also sell them in different lengths too

I was in the same boat, mine had to be fairly short too

Thanks man! The roll bar is already there, cleverly disguised as a chopped windshield frame:D:D

Thank a ton, I really appreciate that. I am with you, I am excited to finally drive the thing. How's your roadster coming along??

Thank you Keith, it's getting there little by little!

Thanks! I think it will all work out. I just wanted it to stay pretty simple looking, & minimalist

It's far from perfect, but perfect enough:p

I do keep a sawzall & demolition blade on call in case of emergency:D:D

  10. One of my favorite RPUs and builds on here Dan. You've done such a maticulous job on it. I love the way you built the frame. Really gets me fired up for my RPU build. Got laid off a week ago so that's on the back burner. Life happens
I used to build airplanes for Beechcraft. Too bad my parents sold their Sanibel house. I'd help ya drive rivets.
I'll bet you're straining at the bit to finish that honey.

YES!!!! More progress! Love the door panels!!

Bust out some scrap materials and start bucking rivets! It's sort of addicting man! Look out!

OK, Dan. I feel it's my civic responsibility to keep your ego in check, what with all these compliments everyone are throwing around...

You suck. Really. I mean it.
    That's why you're my hero! :)

Guys, thank you all a ton, the support really means the world to me!! I have been inspired by so much of everybody's work here, that to hear the kind words about my little project is kind of surreal to me. It makes me want to try harder, thanks again

Well I made a little more progress on my interior panels. I looks like a real little bit, but it took me forever it seems:eek:

I cut out all the oval shaped panels & rolled some beads in that will rivet to the door panels. I set up guides to roll the beads (like I showed earlier in my floor panel post) & it worked great, the beads were nice & straight, which for me is a miracle!

I got the drivers side pretty much done, I just have to buck 1,278 rivets:p. Bill ("Skirv" here n the HAMB) gave my a TON of really helpful info on bucking rivets, so I am excited to try it out after some practice. Thank you Bill, I really appreciated that! If I can actually do it right I'll try to post some info & pics of how it goes.

I think I like the way it looks. It is simple looking but works I think. I thought about putting a line a holes between the beaded panels that I could dimple die, but I think it would be too much.

Here's a few pics as it sits, time for bed now!!

  18. Looks great Dan! I imagine hat must have taken forever. Did you use a template for the hole locations or just tediously measure and mark each one?

Hey, thanks for throwing my car on there, I appreciate that!

I agree, I am always grateful for everybody's feedback, makes all the hours spent even better. Jimmy's rpu is one that I spent hours looking at every pic/video I could find, man I love that thing.

BTW, how is your project coming along??

Thanks man, I really appreciate! I kept thinking of a million ways to do it, I finally had to stop thinking & start building:p

Thank you! Yeah, it did take forever, & I still have a bit more to go. I thought about a template, but there are 5 different sizes of the ovals, so by the time I made the templates I could be somewhat closer to finished. At least I am 1/2 done with the holes:eek:

I know what you mean DR. Honestly though it is sometimes good to get away from a project for a short break. Sometimes when I hit on it too hard it looses some of the fun, & a little break makes a big difference.

Just don't take too long a break, or everybody will be hounding you for updates:D:D

Hey Mike!! Man I knew you had to be on the Hamb. Thanks again, I am so glad I found you, I really could not be happier with your work, It's awesome!

Thanks man! Bill does really nice work on everything! I wish he would post more of his projects here, I know that it would be enjoyed (hint hint.......)

Wow, both Siskel & Eibert agree:p
    Thanks Scoot
    , I appreciate!
