Hello from Michigan. After sitting on the bench raising 4 kids (college and all) it is time to get back into the game. My first car was 53 Plymouth. Didn't do much to it except learn to drive, when it started. Put a 390 into a 60 ford four door and learned to change transmissions in the snow. Started working a the Ford Rouge Plant and learned quite a bit more. Bought a new 65 Comet and started racing at Detroit Dragway. Became a tech inspector and upgraded to towing for the Funny car guys in the late 60's. Went into the Army (just next to Manhatten Dragway in Kansas and set the C/S AHRA track record in a 70 440-tripower Cuda. Went through quite a few cars, but no projects, married and raised the kids. My favorite recollection was the 29 flathead roadster for sale that I p***ed on (no top in Michigan, now it doesn't matter). I am 62 and my goal is to drive Route 66 when I'm 66 in a 29 roadster.
Welcome from Cartersville Ga. Hope your dream comes true that would be cool to be able to drive route 66 have a good one.
