well after fighting some 6v charging issues and whitewalls that keep turning brown, i finally got it all sorted out today and went for a cruise. Had to take a picture in front of the oldest sign in town. Just thought i would share. Feels good to be back behind the wheel

Lovely car! What size wheels and tires do you run? Is the suspension lowered?

Thanks! The wheels are stock ford f100 steel wheels 15x5 1/2 . Tires are firestone 6.70-15
The front was lowered by reversing the main spring eyes and removing a few leafs.
The rear was done by reversing the main spring eyes, removing a few leafs and 6" long shackles. Also removed the stock lever shocks and installed tube shocks

Another pic from yesterday. My little girl got a new hat and had to have her picture taken in front of "her" car.

Really great looking coupe. I know that sign well! I stayed at that motel
back in the day while working some shutdowns at various plants in the area. I also remember a jumping honky tonk on the Airline hwy in the area. Used to stop there after the races at he speed way in Prairieville.
    Don't remember that name though.

My father in law used to race at the prairieville speedway. I cant remember the name of the honkytonk. Ill have to ask him about it. The motel isnt open anymore. Probably wont be long till its all torn down and the sign is gone

I did not know him personally. I do remember what I believe
is the Fairlane you mention. It was a very good running and well
driven effort. If I remember correctly, it had a very loud and unique
exhaust note. (I do tend to remember a lot of things like that) weird
    huh?

My Father in law told me a story about when red farmer came to town to race he used my father in laws shop to tune and work on his car. Red and his crew also helped him tune his car. He told me red sent him a brand new set of carillo rods and a red farmer camshaft for his hospitality
