  1. Got the large parts of the running gear painted tonight. Plan on doing rod ends, spring plates etc. tomorrow. The Sunday or Monday the frame gets painted!!!!! I should have a painted roller by the next weekend. Dad, sentinalT and I made plans to do the motor work sometime towards the end of next month at the latest.

Cool where are the pics. [IMG]
What color did you paint your running gear?

  3. Pics after the frame goes together. I used a dark pewter metallic. Look at that rust colored 27 Coupe that was in Street Rodder and OSR, White used the same color on that car. I bought it by mistake, I was looking for a lighter color but dig this one now!!!!!!! PPG color is Dark Pepper Metallic.

  5. I will post good pics this week(late) with the roller. I am getting jazzed, my dad is getting pissed, he wants another car after watching me!

  6. well, Today the sentinalT (lil bro), dad and I cleaned out and reorganized the garage. All the parts I sprayed yesterday look really good. The sentinal and I got lots of little detail sanding done, seam sealed the floors, cowl and rear body seams. Also sorted parts I need to beadblast before paint. All the little***** like rod ends, M/C etc................. Very cool, and I still have a full weekend as in two days to go!!!!

So you're going to be selective, like the magazines, where we get to see only the pretty pictures, telling us that your work is perfect and goes from start to finish in one graceful step. Uh huh. Damn! You're good, Trent!

Truth to tell, just raggin' on you a bit, pal. Even for someone like myself who gets paid for sharing the how-to story ever so often, it's very easy to get caught up in fun of the work to the extent that we forget about documenting it on film or disc.

Take youre time, enjoy the work, and share it with us when you can.

  8. Mike, the fact is, the only digi I have is my boss'. I have to get the camera up to the place I am working on the car at, drive back AWAY from my house and post em then come home! DOH! I wil get my own digi soon. Besides that, I dont think 4 bones and a rearend housing and an axle will look right in a pic. You need the whole picture!

  9. CHange of plans. I shot the final coat of primer today. Looks good, I have a couple little trouble spots. I swear that 1/4 was wave free Yesterday! [IMG] Got all but one of my doors close to wet sandable condition as well. I still have a ton of parts to sandblast, backing plates etc. If I get them done in the morn, I will squirt em tomorrow. Then comes the frame. Logistics and planning are the hardest part of getting these things done!!! Especially in a two car garage.
