Event Coverage Back to the 50’s throwback

Well as we wait for photos to come in from this weekends events starting up Minnesota I thought it might be fun to start a thread of old photos from back to the 50’s.

I’ve only been a few times, the first I even thumbed a ride with @Rocky in a borrowed 427 bbc powered f truck! But I’ve got a ton of memories jammed into those days.

I recall a lot of hamb meet ups and thought it would be fun to see some familiar faces we haven’t seen around here in a long time.
I think this batch has Bob K, @Tuck @titus @bobbleed i think that last one was Cadillac Kid or similar? Think I see Kev and Johnny cola in there as well.

They guisered, tuck throwing stink bomb, bob reving the roadster like it was some sort of villain and cruising in the Hex throwing flames out the back.

I’m not sure I even took photos of cars lol

I think always was. Took a long time to get used to going somewhere and not seeing him there.

Tim was pretty young in those days and I thought he'd get a big bang outta driving the BBC powererd '56. ford. I was right.

 

Man I remember more of that trip with you than I remember of last week lol

 

That’s my red sedan in the top pic. It’s here again this year.

 

My wife and I was at BTTF for a few years in a row, before it grew to 9,000 entries. It was a lot of fun before it got too big to be enjoyable.

Every once in a while we have the desire to go back, but then we hear there are still 12,000 entries, and we pass.
The car club we went with (The Kroozers of Northern IL), often parked neat the arcade as a group. I would have been in my 35 Dodge 2 door sedan, in 1995 to early 2000s. We weren't big on taking pictures back then.

 

Tim, were these pics around 2003-04?

 

2006 was the first year for my sedan, so it had to be at least then.

they were from two different years. 2006 using his sedan as a date is the later trip. The first trip with Rocky would have been 03? I think Rocky picked me up in Sioux City so it couldnt have been any later.

 

Always a good show.

 

I gotta make it to one someday. Minnesota state fairgrounds was my favorite venue for the NSRA nationals.
