Event Coverage Back to the 50's Show day 1--and day 2

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by povertyflats, Jun 18, 2010.

  1. Good photos, thanks for posting them. I grew up in Minnesota and have not made that show yet, gotta go one of these years for sure. I really hope that last photo, the one of the yellow coupe was photoshopped.

unfortunately, that yellow car photo was not messed with. they sure did mess with the car, and ruined it, IMHO. Lots more "messed up" cars, but many that are nicely done, not all HAMB friendly, but that is okay with me.

So many people and cars there can't see everybody or every car.
That yellow "reverse chop" was a few car up from me on Friday.
We'll see you in Wisconsin in July Paul.

I'd like to know the gate count on general admission. There was a sea of people. Awesome.

  7. I saw Milner today and yesterday I saw Boyds old right hand man Duane walking around looking at cars

No kidding - I was there all day today, and I never saw 2/3 of the cars in the posted photos.

There were 11,795 cars. My number was 11,794!

Great time at the swap meet! I need more.

  16. I spoke with the owner/builder of this car for quite some time... it was my personal favorite piece of the show... hands down. I have his contact info if anyone wants it.

BTT50Z is an insanely large car show... we drove around for two hours in my buddies car on Saturday until we found a place to park it. I didn't even bother taking my camera out of the car to shoot pictures or I would have never even seen 1/10th of the cars there... which is still over 1,000 cars??? NUTS!!!

Awesome show, awesome scene... and a big "hats off" to all of the volunteers and everyone that puts this monstrosity of a show on. I even scored a part for my car in the swap meet this morning.

    Keep the pictures coming boys...:)

Wait... I stand corrected... I took one picture.

We got the nash home safe and sound with no more radiator problems. The guys at the shop in Des Moines did a great job and would recomend them if you have any problems. Lee Highland Radiator 1431 Walnut Street, Des Moines, Iowa.

Did anyone get pictures of the pickup/sprint car in process?

I was not carrying my camera on Saturday, but that truck was super cool!

It was the closest thing to a street legal circle track car I have seen in MN!

  24. Thanks for posting the name of the shop, The radiator in my 56 Dodge decided to give it'self a hole in the tank a few weeks back & since I live in Dez Moinez, I may just have to get my-self over there.

  25. This lives out near Hudson, WI now...I see it all the time when I'm out at my girlfriend's house. It's pretty cool.
