Saturday the Riverside Juvenile Hall had a small car and bike show for the kids there. It's put on by the juvenile hall auxillary. The show has been goin' on for about 16 years. There were a few cars from the Canyon Lake Car Club. Roger and Marie O'Dell brought their 36 Ford. Jesse James brought his 51 Merc. It's pretty cool to see him and all of the others show up for these kids. They don't get much contact with the outside and this show is for them. The kids vote for their favorite car. Jesse talks to the kids, and shows them his car. Everyone can be a positive influence to a kid. They deserve it!
Jesse James seems like a real down to earth dude, and always willing to give back from what i've seen and read!! Bad Ass!! Great cars there too!!
Nice Merc!.............Good for the kids to see some good things to spend there time and energy with.
I remember Riverside Juvenile Hall all too well. Jesse if you read this just know you're not the only one who wants to see Troy Zoccalato again. Nice little get together of rides though. Thanks for the pictures.
Life has caught up with that asshole for being a dick to us in there. Troy now works at the CVS store in a mall in Orange County.
Damn I love that Merc. I saw it at A.S.S. last time I was in austin. It's ironic that I just happen to be watching the East Coast" episode of monster garage. It's really cool to see guy's like Jesse give back and help turn around some kids. The school builds were always really cool to see on MG mainly because the kids got so stoked of working on cool stuff. I don't watch to hijack this thread so if you see this Jesse I'm sure alot of us would like to see what your working on now, Maybe start a new thread?
Jeez, I love jesse's Merc. One of my all time fav's. Can only hope my 51 will look half as good once I get it built!
a rattle can of flat black applied to that radiator would make the world of difference to the car, as you are no doubt making a difference to these kids..good stuff (but please black your radiator!!)
Ot.I saw Troy(Mr,California) get knocked out at a party in Woodcrest.Loved it.Looks like a nice show.Used to ride my bike or skateboard by there all the time in the late 70's,early 80's.
What a great event for a super cause. These kids need some heros to benchmark and Jesse's high profile name really lets these kids know they are worthy of a better future. Kudos to all involved and am proud to see the H.A.M.B. element involved is such worthy endevours!! ~Sololobo~
Dam Whinners... that car looks awesome...lets see the cars you are building, have built etc etc etc and let us pick them apart... better yet I am sure you would take time out of your day on a saturday if you made the $$ Jesse does to do something for others... I doubt it!
What He Said! I like the subtle simplicity of the car, The Ghost, Flaked, Scallops sneak up on ya! Jesse, I never got a pic of the inside. That steering wheel is pretty cool too. Pearlcraft?
I wasnt whinin, the car is Killar, i can look past the rad no problem, it just detracts from the awsome simple grille/mouth opening on the merc! And Props on helping the kids, they are our hobby's future and when they are young they are very impresionable, i know from experience if you know what i mean, riding around in my dads hammered top 33 ford tudor when i was a kid, i was bit hard and it took! JEFF
That car is so killer! Are we speaking of the bodybuilder, Troy Zuccolotto? I remember that dude from my competing days! Dont know him well though
We took the wheel covers off my buddy Jeremy's Merc over the weekend and I painted the front wheels black with trim rings and spider caps. I would normally go wheel covers every time but on his car they look fucking awesome. I think Jesse's car looks good with them on. He does not strike me as the skirt and wheel cover kind of feller. Whatever's Clever.
I was born accross the street from that "juvi". (They tore the hospital down and built a Lowes) I never stepped foot in that place. "Thank God". but, my brother and a few cousins' did. I wish some one would have done something like that, and I could have heard of a positive experience instead of my brothers story of having to tie a knot in the underwear they gave him because they were too big. lol. Thank you to all that are making an effort for the lost.
I barely recognize that neck of the woods. Yes, the hospital was torn down and is a Lowes now. The only thing thats still there is "Georges Drive in" on Magnolia. Didn't know anything about this car show - wish i did - would of got some of the Shifters to attend including brother Marky's P.P.E. Someone let me know if this ever happens again. Axle
