  4. Thanks, Ive started with cutting off the ugly homemade rear fenders. Ill replace em with originals. I did consider going fenderless, but i dont think it would suit the body.:D

  5. Ive been getting the vin sorted.
Theres desiel coming out the sump gasket, which means engine is ready to start being freed up, and im throwing a grand at it in the next few weeks. just waiting to get the cash.
I even got some work done on the Packard this weekend. (paint stripping on the aluminium top.

  6. Today, i got the rear hubs off with help from my mate Bazza, a home made puller, some good hits with two heavy hammers and a little heat.

  12. Thanks,
Its been suggested, that i cut the body off, and put roadster rear quaters on.
Sure a roadster would be cool, but you dont see these everyday.

A bit of info on those frozen threads. The very best penetrating oil is a mixture of ATF and acetone. I have used lacquer thinner with good results.

  16. I havent forgotten, Clive, just couldnt afford it at the time. Even tried talking "speedy pete" into stocking some, :D. Didnt work.
Keen to try it, but ive been getting by with an Aussie product, "Inox".
So far, nothings been a real problem to get off, but there is going to be some pita ones coming up.
I was real keen to spend the day on it, today, but an old customer turned up wanting to spend some cash. Had to make hay, while the suns still shinning.:)

  17. Here is a Colonial cab pickup (32-34?) that a friend had back in the mid-late 70's.

  18. Wow, thanks very much Kev.
So far, ive only seen one other, and thats an AA.
I love how the swage line on doors and rear of the cab match. I was thinking of doing this to, but not sure. It does tidy it up a lot.
Im also not fussed on the arched door tops, but will proberbly leave it alone.
That trucks awesome, i wonder where it is now?

  19. gonzos models 129.jpg A small update.
Yesterday, i ordered complete engine gasket set, hubcaps, new wiring, chrome wheel nuts and stainless petrol cap. (bling bling, lol.)
Love overnight delivery, the parts arrived this morning as i was getting up. Woo Hoo! :D:D:D
    Excellant service.

  21. Keith, im not mucking around now :D.........A huge thank you also, to Rust Tee, for rear backing plates, they finally arived.
Today, ive also ordered two sets of brake shoes and linings, plus some ignition wiring.
Then i took the steel top back off, and took it back to bare metal on the inside. I missed finishing it totally, as i run out of strip discs, but its mostly done, and zinc primed. :)

Seems strange to see a R/H drive set up.......

now your on the system do they issue a reg No.............??

  28. Keith, the next step is rust cert and a warrant, then rego. We have a warrant system, where they need to be done every six months, and rego can be done for as long as you like.

I recived two sets of bonded brake shoes, and the ignition wire also this week.

  29. time to get that motr free'd up then ae...bet ya itching now
