On the way home from the Western MD Rod Run in Cumberland Md I was in a "little" accident. The axle on our wagon broke and sent me out of control. I fought the wheel for about a half mile with the car jacking from side to side. It eventually came around and the camper flipped on its side. I guess the camper acted as a cushion against the guard rail.

I was lucky to come out of it without a scratch. Someone or something was looking out for me. The wagon isn't in real bad shape either. both quarters are dented and some scratches here and there. The camper and the stuff inside didn't fair so well. The camper was destroyed.

I called a couple of buddies and they hurried to the scene with their rollbacks. Mikey and Sandie both brought their rollbacks to get the wagon and the camper (remains) home. Jr was there with the van to pick up all the contents.

We had lots of help cleaning the scene up. Johnnylonghair was running with us and helped pick all of our stuff up. The rest of the boys showed up to help load the remains of the trailer.

It's nice to have good friends when you're in a jam.......thanks guys!!!

Jesus thats scary looking, looks like the wagon is alright for the most part though huh? As for the trailer, its just sheet metal, it can be replaced, the important thing is your alright and you kept control the bst you could so nobody else got hurt.

Oh man! Isn't that what happened to that T-bucket wreck recently. Anyway anybody can check for that. Tear down the rear end, rebuild. Things to check for?

Did I say I hate this wagon???? It has been nothing but trouble.

It's a 9" rear and the axle snapped just outside of the bearing. Looks like it may have been cracked for a while. There was a little rust where it snapped.

I feel worse about the camper than the car....did I mention I hate that car??? If it woulda happenned to my 48 I woulda cried. Luckily my wife was in the 48 behind me. She was really scared watching it happen from behind. She was actually more shook up than I was.

    Here's the camper before.

Bluenlow...I think he'd sell the wagon cheap!

Mazda...Heres a pic of the broken axle

Clark glad you didn't get hurt. Looking at the camper on the rollback I think when it gets rebuilt you should bag it.

Only because it is you and I would expect the same back if it were me...1. you will do anything to get a photo on the HAMB! 2. you really fit all of Sues stuff in Jr's van? 3.Was Sandie excited that he got to turn on the spinny lights on his rollback at a REAL accident? 4. I feel better after seeing the photos. Sue told me the camper was "split in half" I imagined the split in a different (and much uglier) direction 5. Yeeeawwwwlllll!!! 6. Glad you are O.K. see you in a day or two.
