Thanks everybody! The camper will get rebuilt. I've had lots of offers of help and even another camper. Clark
Never a dull moment in Clarks world! Glad to see you and yours are safe. Goodluck on the rebuild.....a totally custom Scotty, you can pull it off!
Now you have it all wrong all, clark wanted me to do build him a new scotty because i'm building a new one. Everybody knows clark!!!
Looks like some serious "pull it outta your ass driving"! Could have been worse, glad everyone is OK.
Glad you're alright, Clark. If you have an Amish-style trailer building party, ring me up and I'll help. Saving my aluminum cans now to patch that thing back up. Later- Rob
Sorry to hear about another HAMB crash! That camper was very cool and can be replaced. Glad to hear your OK and also to say you have a great group of friends there. Good luck!
Nice Driving, glad to hear everyone is OK. Dump the wagon, and hope someone else has better luck with it. Let us know if you need any help locating parts for the camper. Sorry to hear that another hamber had a an accident. Dennis UPS
Damn, that blows! You PA guys are having a run of shitty luck, let's hope this is it for a while. I'll come help in any way I can, don't hesitate to ask. Stacey
Glad you were okay Clark...that's some scary stuff when nothing you do seems to help. Things will get better pal. Thank goodness for all the friendsto help. Charlie
I'm glad you're OK pal, campers can be replaced, you can't. I've never had an axle housing break, I've lost axles, three times, no fun, but that looks way worse. Best of luck, it'll all be back together soon.
Eddie had the same side break on his wagon- which is a 62 country sedan... only thing that saved his ass was the fact that it is bagged and the inner fender *kinda* held the wheel in place. sucks,Bro good to see you made it out okay.
Gee Clark, Think how bad that could have been if you didn't have all that dirt track driving talent! See ya at Hershey next month! Bob
Sorry for your bad luck, that was a really cool looking combo. At least the wagon didn't get flopped over and nobody was hurt. Looks like that could've been really bad!
Whats up with rear ends going out on the freeway lately...Damn that is some scary shit! Glad no one was hurt and that were able to walk away from that. Lucky indeed.
Clark, glad to hear you are OK after that, pretty scary ride I bet. If you can send me some real high quality pics of the fracture surface, I will try to give you a quick failure analysis, to help understand what went wrong. Terry
So happy to here that you and no one else were hurt. If I can help you out in any way, just let me know Clark.
sorry to hear about your trailer, it was a cool piece. Glad to hear your okay. Oh, did you tell us that you hated that wagon? Other than the broken axle, what other damage did the wagen incurr?
Clark, put an axle under it and sell the wagon to Bluenlo Take the camper, cut it half, hang the good side from the side of your shop.. or better yet, cut the wagon it half also.. put both on the side of the shop.. That new place you were looking at looks big enough to handle one or both of them hanging on the wall... you can leave the door so it opens and have a refrig behind it so you can grab a cold one...
Squig...you're right the pics do look old. Chopped50...did I tell you I hate that car??? The wagon actually fared well. The pas. quarter is the worst but very workable. The driver's quarter is just banged up at the bottom. That with a scratch or two here and there. I'll need a new axle and backing plate too. The backing plate has about 1/2" wore off the bottom. Terry..thanks for the offer. I would like to know what caused it. I'm actually taking it quite well....besides hating the wagon. I know we'll rebuild the camper better than before. I really don't need the camper till the Jalopy Showdown in the spring. My father is lending me his bigger camper for Hershey. Clark
Damn Clark...glad you're ok. This gave me a couple of flashbacks.....one when I totaled my navigator towing a hotrod.....and two, my '62 Unibody broke an axle in the exact same place. Over the years someone had cut off the old bearing with a torch, nicked the axle which initiated the failure. Luckily it didn't wreck, but it blocked a busy Austin highway.
