bad flexplate causing tranny leakage?

    Hi!
I have this never ending converter seal leak.I tried 3 different converters, everytime new seal.
Even changed the pump for a known as dry and good one. Then i used washers to bring the converter nearer to the pump, which helped a lot.
    But still:
ATF sipping out of the converter seal.
    This is driving me nuts!
Could this be caused by a out of balance flexplate?
My idea is,when it shakes around it will eat up seal real fast?

    Thanks,
    Olli

I assume the problem is with the 58 chevy pictured. First, the trans bellhousing is probably not centered to the crankshaft centerline. In other words, rotating concentrically and wiping out the front seal.Put a dial indicator on the crankshaft flange and index it to the I.D. of the front pump cover. They make offset dowel pins that fit into the back of the block for this purpose.Try this first. Feel free to P.M. me if I can help further.

  4. Install a new bushing in the pump. Also loose main bearings can cause the seal to leak. OldWolf
