    With the number of people that post on the Hamb{i am guessing at 20,000} why not have Car Club Plaques........say one for each state??

    because we can:D

    I figure this site is the one, well read, almost a society unto itself. we all have habits of gathering with fellow Hambers locally. So why not take it a step futher and display what we already have. The largest gathering of fellow Hot Rodders nationwide. Easy to get the plaques made{Obrien Truckers for one} cost is reasonable and Ryan can make a few buckolas.

    Interesting idea. But we already have the "timing tags" if you're an alliance member. I'm asking my old lady for a hamb alliance membership for my birthday. You do have a good point though.

    the timing tags are for alliance membership{i have one although i am not current right now}

    Car club plaques are cool, part of the traditional scene, and i will bet most everyone would want one.{if i am wrong so be it}

    Why not just a HAMB tag then?

    But, honestly, by your own description, we really don't need a tag.

    The problem with merchandise as a whole is it starts to water things down. Some people just have to have "things" and we don't really need a whole slew of people signing on just so they can get a plaque too.

    On the flip side of that, The HAMB came along and brought this whole misfit batch of nearly like minded people together into as close to a cohesive group as there can be. Now we have people spinning clubs off inside it and plaques by state, more division.

    It may just be my take on it. I tend to oversimplify the complicated things and overcomplicate the simple things...

    You did ask though and I'm not arguing. Just discussing...

    its ok to "beat" something around, i get your points. my intent was to do exactly what you just said....."unify the batch of misfits nationwide. not start splinter groups but have something that displays to everyone what we already have........ a unification of hard core, traditional Hot Rodders that will immediatly be recogonized when someone is behind them staring at the Plaque

    I completely agree with you. We're already unified because we post here. The alliance is an additional "club" that unifies members and provides discounts and funds to the site. I understand that everyone likes plaques and think they are cool. I dunno though. I'm not trying to ruin your fun. It is a good idea. I think Ryan just has a better thing in place with the alliance.

    Don't get me wrong, I'm not "against" the idea. I do tend to lean more towards keeping things more intimate. I'd hate to see enough HAMB branded stuff out there that someone starts knocking it off to turn a buck.

    Having HAMB issued plaques, we're only asking for a bunch of ****. Reminds me of all the ya-hoos I see around town with GREAT BIG John Deere stickers on their trucks.............but ain't none of the idiots EVER been near a tractor let alone owned one to have brand loyalty.

    Personally speaking, this sounds way too organized for me. The H.A.M.B. Alliance tag is good for me. Anything more and I'd make it a point to be a part of the crowd that proudly does not have a plaque.
    Speaking of which, I think its time to have my teeth cleaned.

  21. cant we leave the yah-hoo's out of it? i happen to resemble that remark and profiling is just wrong:D i promise to only wear the john deere hat on sunday for church..

    Arrggh you must be old. I'm no tractor ya-hoo either, but that doesn't mean that the city slicker with his lifted 4x4 that's never seen dirt wasn't a ya-hooo.

    Just because you feel you earned your right, doesn't mean the 10,000 other wannabes did.

    I agree....I don't want to see people reproducing HAMB merchandise...I like the way Ryan releases stuff here and there...and if they're gone, they're gone!! I would just die if I saw Brittney Spears trade in her Von Dutch hat, for a HAMB hat!:eek:.........I say bad idea.........
