I've been working on this car on and off for a few weeks now and am pretty excited about it... I've loved that purple T from the late fifties/ early 60's for years and wanted to do my take on it...

    T-RANTULA

These T's are built like tanks!

I scored the body from Skypops in a crazy 3 way trade and had most the other stuff around..... the 283 came from Jakes garage.

I've been looking at tons of pics of these things and they are so cool, but few get the proportions right..... They all have goofy extended suicide fronts or just loose me somewhere...... or rely on T bucket technology......

BUT when they are on..... they RULE! I think I might even like them better than Model A's.....

I wanted to make a tight package.... no extra space or lanky T Bucket goofiness...

The chop is just tacked and the rear panel needs to be replaced.... I just stuck the 58 Chevy lights on there for mock up.... when I replace the panel, they will be moved out and down a little...

I don't really like suicide fronts.... I always think it looks weird that the grill shell gets cut off.... So I made a special front crossmember that allows the grill shell to sit in front of it and it will appear as though the pearch is coming out of the grill..... Or the frontend is out there without being attached...

I still have some things to work out, but I think it should be pretty neat...

    Heres some more........

The flatness of the slicks reflects the flatness of the roof, which reflects the flatness of the Zoomies......

    THREE THREE THREE

Everything should follow the rule of three.

I'm pretty happy with the spider leg zoomies.......

I took this pic from inside the shop...... this car is pretty low, but not channelled so it will be roomy as hell....

I'm building it to sell to fund other stuff...... Plans are for for satin silver blue, with darker fogging and I've got some great seats that Titus's girlfriend, Jenny made.....It should end up being a great 60's style T...

It's going to sit around for a week or two while I finish some other stuff... I would love someone to buy it and have me finish it, but it never works out that way......

Anyway I'm not interested in selling it as is, so please don't ask. I plan on finishing it, but if it seems like something someone is into, let me know... it will be pretty cheap for what it is.... I'll post it for sale when its done, but will have more updates next week.....

  13. That is bad ass! I love T coupes, and I love 60's style rods. The skinny WW pie crusts and the front end treatment rule as well.

Cool! Really like that style, & the -58 chevy lights always looks so right. Are the paint gonna look like the front wheels then?

  22. looks cool bob. i've always liked the model T's better than model A's. i'd kill for a 2 door T sedan body. anybody got one? it can be rough....i don't mind! find me one bob!!! i've got a project i'm collecting parts for. i have a really rough 28/29 coupe body i'd swap for an equally rough T coupe or sedan body. damn i love those T's!!!!!!

    Bob,
The "T" looks great, you've read my mind. That's the look I'm going for on the one I bought last month. How much did you Z the frame in back? What did you take out of the top? Where did you get the "Pie Crust" slicks?
I didn't channel mine either as this is one of the first cars I've found that had the floorboards still in it..

Looks good so far Bob. I agree that the T coupes do not look right when they are put on T-bucket frames with the front axle pushed way out. Looking forward to seeing more pics of it as construction continues.

The only redeeming thing about the Cherry Pie video was Bobbie Brown in those cut off shorts.

    Looks good Robert!

I wanna go where the down boys go.

Did you get that steering box to work? The car looks great, maybe I'll have money when it's done so I can buy it. Probably not, but I can dream, can't I?
