Update! Courtney is doing WAAAY better. He was a little bummed that he had to shave off his "sweet beard" for some electro shock therapy to his throat... but besides that, his spirits are high! He took a sip of diet coke yesterday... and swallowed it! Got a couple laps in up and down the hallway using the handrail... They are working him hard... occupational therapy, speech stuff, little break, back into occupational therapy! 7am- 3pm every day! I on the other hand am still dealing with freakin Paypal. cross your fingers that they won't ask for anymore "proof" and we can get that thing working again! I know there is a truck show scheduled for the 16th and 17th of March in Modesto if anyone would like to attend, hit me up and I'll get you the info. Also, a bunch of the chopper guys are getting some auctions together... I'll let you know when that happens too! I'll tell ya what guys, something like this is a real sombering experience. I never thought how quickly things could change. Kiss the kids and tell the people who mean the most to you in your life how much you love them... Cause you might not be able to tomorrow. Jason
Glad to hear the news Jason! The electro-shock stuff is neat. Feels like a massage.... sorta. I've been getting it on my back. Can't image what that would feel like on the throat though???
Now he knows what a MIG welder feels like!!! Good to hear the positive news. Hope the candy stripers are hot!
Damn I feel like a pussy now. Burn marks wow! I could feel the juice making my back muscles twitch. It was a let us know what you can take kinda deal. I'm gonna have them crank it up next time. Maybe I can get outta work then.
Just don't pee your pants if they do. It is embarrassing. I got cooked once on my shoulder about 20 years ago. Burned like hell but it didn't help much. Still got a knot in there that comes up now and again.
I'm betting that Courtney has a pretty good idea what MIG burns feel like. Jason - thanks for the update... I posted it on the NC mail list. Killer news! - Joe
I haven't been around much lately, so this is news to me. Sorry to hear this has happened to such a cool guy. Get well soon, hoss! I owe him big-time. He brought me 6 wheels from Cali to the LSRU a couple years back- in the back of an SUV, clinking & clanking the whole way. 4 Model A 19" & 2 16" wires don't stack together worth a crap. I'll dig around & add something to the auction thread soon, as well as send something to the donation fund listed in Denise's auction thread ASAP.
Added a couple "Walk the Line" movie posters to Denise's auction thread. Check it out & help out a fellow hot rodder & HAMB member!
I apologize cause I know this is tech week but I've got great news! Courtney gets to go home Thursday! Hes made huge steps towards his recovery. He finally swallowed on his own...drank a whole cup of water! And he walked back to his room from rehab... without the walker! He said he woke up yesterday and felt different... a GOOD different. I think it just took a bit for the prayers to get there.
Awesome. Thanks for keeping us posted. Lance p.s. Can you change this thread title to "Good News!"...?
