I've been meaning to get a couple photos of this thing. It came to the museum to go back with the California Speed & Sport stretched midget to sprint we have that ran it years ago. Ford V8-60 with a chain driven Maserati blower & two 2's. They said they couldn't keep a blower together enought to win a race, but it sure does LOOK cool!!
That's real beauty, to my eye. Thanks for posting it. So those Maserati blowers don't stay together, eh? Too bad - cool on the outside!
How could you miss an appropriate chance to say off the chain like that??? That Chain drive is off the chain!!!! What year did that blower come from?
very cool. on another note, ive got the same carb adaptor as on top of the blower, goes from 1 2bbl to 2 2bbl's, anyone know who made em? ive only seen 2 others. JEFF
That's wicked. And what does the rest of the car look like? Just wondering so I can put it all together in my dreams tonight.
A-****ing-mazing!! would love to hear that little monster scream!! Thanx for showing this *** kicker! ~Sololobo~
It began life as a V-8 60 powered midget. Joe stretched the frame so that it had the wheelbase of a sprint car. (This was fairly common back in the late '50s/early '60s). Instead of installing a bigger engine for the sprint campaign, he mounted the blower. He was actually compe***ive with 220 Offies and some of the first Chevies. He later but a Chevy in the car.
