Yes he did, I had 2 sets, one we cut and had a guy here try to weld it, he fucked it up so bad that it couldn't be corrected. However they were dimensionally correct, they fit perfectly. So I sent both sets to Dick in Auburn Ca and he cut and welded the second set match the butcherd ones in size and sent them back and the fit just fine, don't even leak when I take it through a car wash. what's happenin' bad luck? are you keepin' the lights off in the garage while you are paintin'? no updates for a while.
hahaha! naw.. still working on the body... nothing really new to update.. Been busy with some other things lately..plus i kinda burned myself out trying to get it done in time for the suede palace! Taking it a little slower and am shooting for Santa Maria for completion.
Nice.I've been debating on whether to chop or not myself. I still have a long way to go with my 52. Gonna keep an eye on yours so keep us posted.
Updates??? I am patiently waiting to see something awesome happen. cant wait to see this car at santamaria
hey thanks im still making progress, but nothing picture worthy yet.. been busy with work and some other things lately.. but the body is almost ready for paint.. have a few areas i have to guide coat still. getting CLOSE!! I pulled my seats out and stripped them down to get redone... what a mess!!
Cool if there is anything else that you can think of that you may need let me know scrapping by the end of the week.
Does anybody know if Chevy and Pontiac front seats are different? I bought a Chevy front seat for my '52 Catalina but it seems too high... maybe because the floor pans are different?
ok.. so its finally going down! ive pretty much blocked and guide coated the crap out of my car.. and i KNOW i probably missed a few spots.. but im ok with it.. because I did it myself so cut me some slack after its painted! Heres a few pics of my body work, primered, 600 sanded and hosed down.. looks good enough to me! Next weekend I will be starting a new thread for the paint stage.. i already base coated my dash, and two toned it with a vintage white.. still need to flake the green then clear coat.. but im actually not happy with the green, and having second thoughts... so i actually picked a lighter brighter green ill be using. So im going to re shoot the top of the dash again this week... and no im not keeping the purple flaked steering wheel! still looking for another one! Thanks for the support guys, CJ.
oh no! thats just the grey primer hosed down with water!! Maybe I should just clear coat my primer and call it done! hahaha! its getting paint the next few weeks..already started with my dash... thanks
