I have a '53 Chevy 150 with the stock front suspension. It is bagged, but doesn't have any shocks up front. I need some ideas on fabricating some shock mounts and what shocks to use. Any ideas are greatly appreciated. Thank You
Im in the same boat, My idea is to possibly use f1 type front mounts that I may have to bend them out with shorter shocks like what is on the front of the 30s cars. If no body chimes in I will let you know what I end up with. Im going to measure my travel soon after I finish the current part Iam doing now(inside floor) and will go to my monroe book and find a good shock from there. So far I have only came across a few pics of these and they just are too dark to see what was really done. looking forward to some replies also.
we (gambino kustoms) sell front shock mount kits for those cars. they are bungs that weld to the lower control arm and brackets that come off the frame rail. im pretty sure alex has part numbers for different shocks that will work aswell. my number is (209) 814 1431 jonny
Hey Jonny are you the guy I talked to when I bought my uprights? Im the dude who showed up in the middle of your work out, I ended up dropping my own steering arms instead of ordering after figuring out they were in fact forged steel. Built a jig to do it. I should of asked that day about the shock mounts by chance do you have any pics? And would you know the cost off hand?
