Im fixing to buy chrOme smoothies for my 53 customline, 15x6 what backspace do i need??? I found some that are +6, would they work? I am running 5.60x15 firestones! I dont want my wheels and tires too far in, i want them as far out to the wheel well as possible and still be able to tuck in the wheel well!!!

Not to stick my nose into business that isn't mine, but a 5.60 is a helluva small tire for these cars. I don't think +6 would work very well at all, maybe a +1 or +2, but I'm not too positive on that. I know its a PITA to get tires stuffed into the quarter

1badrat I run 7 inch rims on my 54 with a 3 1/2 back space. I have two sets 14x7 and 15x7. 14x7 are a little harded to get under rear 1/4s due to car being lowered. Tire size is 205 I have no rubbing problem even with fender skirts on.

i have 15x7 on mine and i have a slight tire rub on the drivers side rear but its just cause my tires are so damn wide. Iv got 215-75r15 tires, but i just got some 670-15s for my steel 15x5 wheel because i want a bit more of a traditional look...

just some info on my issues...
