Technical Bagged shoebox ride height?

Another question from new Euro shoebox owner

Planning to swap rear axle, getting Ford Explorer 8.8, and at the same time I'd like to install air bags.

How low can i go before i hit frame or tire wells (stock wheels)?

Would you reccomend C notching a frame? Or its not worth the h***le, result is minimal with max effort?

 

Well. You can check with tape measure
Measure how high the car is off the ground stock
If the rocker is 8 inches from the ground, use that measurement to figure out where the rear axle will be at the drop you want

 

And there's your answer. It's a priceless Tool.

 

Only problem is that i dont have the car yet waiting for it to arrive on late June - early July
