I am thinking about bagging the '85 Chevy 1 ton ch***is for my COE. I am not looking for a low truck but rather a super nice ride (Real bad back problems) Any advise from those of you that have done this? What type of bags and what weight? Where is the best place to buy the plates and cups? How about the rear? I am going to be pulling a 5th wheel RV and gooseneck horse trailer with about 750 - 900 lb tongue weight. Thanks for any help on making the decision

rustynuts, What ch***is are you using? would love to see what you have done. Have looked at http://www.suicidedoors.com and its very interesting. I really do not need nor want all the fancy stuff to lower and raise the truck. I am looking for a soft ride.

Donnda, I would use at least a 6" diameter bag for each side, several companies make a small 12v compressor with air tank included. I would also consider installing a auto leveling valve for each side. I have built several systems for 1 ton and med. duty trucks. If you remove (some) leafs from the springs and let the bags do the work, you will have a nice ride..when you add a trailer, the leveling valves will fill bags as req. to your pre set ride height also making the truck stable side to side. I will be glad to p*** on part #s and sources for the parts if you like. This system can be built very economically. You also would able to install an air seat in the truck. fabman

Donnda, The bag plates and brackets are fairly simple fabricated parts. I will build some and send them to you once you choose the bags if you like, or share how they are built. Nothing rides like air, if the system is designed correctly. fabman
