Hey, just posted the ol F Bomb on the cl***ified section. Hate to get rid of it but it was more than I am able to handle right now. I've located a '56 Parklane in TX and a '57 Ranch Wagon near my home that I may try to get. I'll just have to pony up some extra bucks. Both look like easier projects than the ol girl that I have now. So if anyone is up to the task, check out my for sale ad. Thanks, Joe
I think you have done the right thing. Your wagon was cool, but looks to be very, very rusty...repairable, but at great cost in parts and labor. I've had some rust buckets in my time, worse than yours, and eventually sold them or parted them out. I don't mind doing mild rust repair, but heavy rebuilding just isn't my style. There are some projects here on the HAMB that are miracles of rust repair fabrication. I am in awe of the abilities of some of those guys, but doing that kind of major work is beyond my abilities. Good luck with your new projects...and post pix!
Sometimes the project looks good and you think you can do this . Then after about a month of looking into what all needs to be done and how long it might take before you can get it to drive on the street , you sit back and say , I just don't want to do this much right now . When you have a project like that , it's best to unload it and find something different that's not as bad that you can drive and fix the same time . That is where I am on my 55 Ford . I was driving and fixing the past five years but just jumped in with both feet to redo the wiring , new engine and trans and so on . Then decided to fix all the previous butcher work that was done on the body . I believe you are doing the right move . Get something you can drive with little work then fit it the way you want it as you drive it . More fun that way ! Jim
Hey Joe , at least you have made the decision before you got too for in, most guys blow them apart and start cutting then realise they've bitten off more than they can chew . Best of luck with your new project man . Rod .
Much as I'd like to get a wagon or sedan delivery, my abilities aren't great enough - and pockets not deep enough - to tackle something as extensive as it is. Hopefully someone with a strong desire to save it will do so. Good luck! Ron
