We're just setting at my house waiting on the Sheriff to hear word from the Highway Patrol, so we know what's goin on. The scoop is; he bought the car off of a guy here in town who had a junk yard, that guy did some trade, he traded a mid fifties vicky for the ford and another car. The older gentlemen at the drags said that there were some things on the frame that he fabbed on the car and that it was stolen 2 yrs ago. We did some figuring and Kelley got the car 3-4 yrs ago and had it stored for awhile before he started working on the car. We were talking and if some odd crazy cir***stances prove that the car could in fact of been stolen 3-4 yrs ago and the guy didn't know about it until 2 yrs ago, that he would have no problem given the frame and shell back, he just would like to get his parts. We were talkin about if the shoe was on the other foot we would like to get our property back if it was stolen. The poor guy about got his *** whipped by the whole end of the track. It's a ******** situation and there are enough witnesses that know Kelley's had the car for more then 2yrs. but at the same time if the car turns out to be the Gentlemens then he has now problems with him getting it back. I'll post later after the Sheriff calls us back. Plus I know there are some shots of the car jacked up while they were looking for numbers so lets see some pics of the drama.
from what I hear when a stolen car is recovered the legal owner gets the car back however it is now. it would be up to him to give back any new parts that were installed. seems I read somewhere about a 55-57 chevy that was stolen, then restored. the legal owner got the car back all restored. of course there is always the possibility that I am just full of ****. it has happened before.
The whole thing blows. We did some checking around today, the part how the junkyard guy recieved the car is pobablly not true. The car was stolen at one time, not by Kelley. So the car is going back to the original owner which is no big to to him. We all would want the same thing if our car was stolen. The bad news (worse then he doesn't own the car anymore) is that if the gentlemen that owns the car can keep everything he put in or on the car; motor, trans, rad., wheels and tires, air ride, front sheet metal, etc. if he so desires and Kelley would have to take him to court over what is his. What a mess, just goes to show that u can buy something on the up and up you think, have the car registered in your name pink insurance and all and it can be takin away from you.
yeah i heard them. At Colton, they wud come out to tune up for the big races on Sunday. 8 straight pipes, awesome! Actually hurt my eardrums. and it ran better than most dragsters. 39cent
Minus the primer on the back from the former owner who recovered it, who is a street rodder and put a gas door in there! (Filled now!) It is an untouched car. It had fenders on the back and bicycle up front. We removed them and are hangin at the shop. Great little car. Thanks to Squeak Bell's Kiwi boy's for getting it out there. I was just to busy with our fuel car all weekend. It was a great reunion this year and Squeak's party was just as fun as always. Thanks again. Steve

Got the rest of my pics uploaded..... =) This pic of Roland Leong's car is one of my favorites. I only realized after I was walking over to take a pic of the car that the photographers had it set up for a photo shoot. I was so encomp***ed by everything going on, I almost walked right into them while they were shooting the car.... -Troy
