Rain is predicted for the week days in Southern California.

Clear skys for the weekend, except for an exotic yellow-brown cloud over northern Bakersfield. Much thunder is also anticipated with above mentioned cloud. There have been reports of the common Famoso Nitroflies in old style breather masks, but your intredid reporter must travel on Hwy 46 to comfirm. If the presence of the Famoso Nitrofly is comfirmed, Chili will be available as antidote. Caution when near the mysterious yellow-brown cloud is advised as there have been unconfirmed reports of a stinging sensation in eyes and ringing of ears. People who have been previously been exposed to this phenomena are advised to bring a rookie fan to soak up said cloud. Be advised that this cloud can be highly addictive and may not be treated successfully with an 85% solution.

    from lost wages

The only known cure is the bacon and eggs basted in #2 diesel at Zingo's . Hopefully the caravan of geezers/Hustlers from Vegas will weather the p***es and roll into Famoso on Friday for the nitro fix.

I just went to the website to get some details on this event. Was I reading it right that they want $25-30 a day just to get through the gate and park!?!?!?!?

I was seriously thinking about going until I read that.

Tell me I'm wrong... Or tell me why I should Pay $30 to look at pre-1972 GoodGuys cars.

It's the racing that makes it worth doing. Lots of gold chainer cars in the show and shine. But the racing is the only place to see a 98% Nitro tune up.

Hey, man, say hi to Bernadette and the kiddos.

Will do. And thanks for the info.

I went to one of the races in Bakersfield a couple years back... In fact, I was on the way there the day I got the call from Bernadette that "we" were pregnant with the first kid... So, I guess it must be going on 4 years ago already...

Anyways, I don't remember it being that expensive. And I don't think we even watched much racing, though I can't remember why.

I guess I'm back on the fence now. Maybe I'll head down.
