    Modern overdrive transmissions are a Godsend for old cars!

    Indeed, I found out an interesting tidbit recently, most folks here probably know, but the NV4500 which was in the 60s C series GM trucks had a bell housing that will adapt a Cummins to the NV4500. The same setup was used in the 2nd gen Ram diesels, could be in 1st gen also, that I don't know.

    A lot of those TB6 were put in bread trucks / step vans.

    Not sure how good that does now as diesel is higher than gasoline, but for towing the Cummins puts a whoopin' on many engines.

    This thread could be removed and the world would never miss it. I don't think I can do that...but I think it's best to let it rest a fast quick death.;)
