I have an old Balkamp tachometer 3-5665 and it looks like it is set up for a six cylinder engine. I’d appreciate any feedback on whether or not it is and if I would damage it if I tried to hook it up as is to my 235. The instructions on mine are really faded and the ones I found online are obscured. But it seems like it is ready to go to me, opinions?
That thing is *****n. Most likely made in the United States, which I appreciate. Generally, the red is key switch power, black is ground and the green or blue is negative on the coil. BUT talk to someone who is smarter than me, hate to smoke that sweet tach. -Abone.
It is Identical to the one in my 57 build ( page 15) . Red to key/power/ green to negative side of coil/ black is ground. The light will come one and stay on all time when key is turned on. I have seen some with a yellow/ blue wire that hooked into the light switch. Follow directions as to which one to cut . I actually found the instruction sheet tucked inside of mine. ( its also on page 15- and its legible)- ( mine is set for 8 cylinder)
About to finish it. Rear speakers. ( and they won’t be perm mounted and the trunk gasket is it. Maybe another set of wheels I have 3sets depending on intent. But it’s about ready to rock and roll.
