So I have the ch***is engineering mustang 2 kit for my 54 chevy. My question is since I have air bags the ball joint boots are pretty much not doing anything. Is there anyone out there that sells something that is meant for the movement of air bags? what do you guys do? I was greasing everything up on the front end and realized the grease won't last in there for very long. If needed should I buy a complete ball joint set up that is better? Thanks
Not exactly sure what you mean. I have set up several dozen MII front ends with bags, and have yet to see a ball joint problem. Most MII setups use a Chrysler ball joint in all 4 positions. Maybe you just have ****py boots.
They make those ball joints and boots like ****. Most of the time when you tighten them down, it piches the boot, then it does not have a lip to catch the boot, so when your suspension moves, it lets dirt in the joint. This is not just on your front end. I really got let down when ordering a bunch of high dollar 4x4 ball joints and tie rods and saw the junk they sent. Alot of parts manufacturers dont take the time to inspect there parts in real world conditions.
Ya i figured this would be the case. I just picked up some energy suspension boots, they look ok. I was a big 4x4 guy and have tried a lot of different ball joints/boots. I thought maybe someone found a little secret somewhere in their travels. I haven't even driven this car and the boots are fried from pushing the damn thing around building it.
