A few of us from Baltimore (and south) heading to the Jalopy Showdown are meeting up Saturday morning (May 17th...duh) at the Valley E**on just above I-83 and 695 (address is 2343 W Joppa Rd Lutherville Timonium, MD 21093). Meeting up at 8am and heading up 795 to Route 30 to the Showdown...in case anyone's heading through and wants to meet up!

I guess it's to far for the Baltimore guys to go. It would be a nice scenic drive if you took Falls road and worked your way to Rt.30 thats how we go to the Greaseball.

I already had my plans for Ocean City this year. HOORAY HOORAY, I got a car to take to OC. Never done that before. I know OC is somewhat of a police shooting gallerie for hot rods but I have always wanted to be a participant in that show.......
I will do the showdown next year if Scary Larry makes it happen again

Sounds like fun, but I'll be at O.C. trying to be "eye candy"...but hopefully not ticket-target for the gendarmes.

Why the hell would anyone go to Ocean City with a bunch of ***s knowing full well there is a better show, full of much better cars at the Showdown? To each his own I guess, but Clark and Company didn't build that "T" to be a *** wagon, hanging out with billet queens waiting for Johnny Law to bust him for the many things it could be busted for. Way to put your car in harm's way. Plain and simple, the OC show is gay. But its your choice. Its your car. Its your lifestyle. Have fun staring at your bumper, we'll be having fun as usual..

Come on spike....don't hold back, tell us how you really feel !!!:D

I had already blown the money on a condo in OC before I heard about the showdown. I agree with you about who will be there and what I will see....but I got my grandkids with me as well as the wife so it is a double vacation kind of thing / car show thing ! At least I am driving it there and back......more than some can say.
I'll be at the showdown next year.
So I guess I should ask if the York thing in June is gay as well ?

    And the T ain't no *** wagon !!!!!!

Uncle Doug Johnson might be meeting up with us at the metro parking lot on 795 (he's coming from the other side of the beltway, so 795 makes more sense for him), but if not then we will take Falls Road...that's a good run, especially that time of morning.

Chad, the powers that be said the '55 will get you in, but let me know if you'll be driving or want to ride with one of us...I'm sure somebody will have room (unless you're talking about coasting the '47 downhill!)

If I coast the 47 down hill, will there be anyone to help push me the rest of the way to Latimore?

York is not as gay as OC, and worth attending for the swap meet area, but compared to the Showdown, yes, its gay.

I know the T isn't a *** wagon, but you'll be surrounded by them all weekend! I understand. Its OK....and yes, York is kinda gay, but the Anti-NSRA party across the street from the main gate is better.

    Have fun,
    Spike

Hey guys....bring LOTS of ten dollar bills. (One per person) The dumb ***es on the front gate have a hard time making change! :D Oh yea, if you know how to put on the wrist band and drop the little number thingie into the box @ the swag counter, PLEASE tell me so I don't have to slow you down with "the speech." Thanx, Pat

  15. Oh come on Hotrodman 2000, you can make it to Latimore if I can. Christ it has to be close to the same distance for me. :D

I would much rather be at the showdown.......but if I ever want to bump uglies again with the wife, I have to follow through with this family vacation / car show event. On top of that, I will have a couple of my grand kids with me....

plus there is the beach eye candy which will help !!

Ocean City?? The lone hot rod in a sea of muscle cars.
I'll try to make ya proud !

This is going to be boring...I can see it coming...you guys have fun !!

  17. I live 30miles from OC and will be there every day except Saturday. My truck gets a lot of attention in the "sea" of shiney cars at the show. Really hacked a guy off in a high dollar Camaro parked next to my "Krylon Kruiser." Seems like he didn't get there early enough to get a spot on the end like I did and was somewhat jealous of all the attention my POS got. Anyplace that features Don Garlits can't be too gay. Cruisin Coastal Highway and over to the H-D shop is a lot of fun in a bobber truck. Last fall the young lady from Powerblock picked my rat for a trophy. Saturday however is usually a cluster..... Traffic jams are not much fun no matter what your driving. It would be kool to get a group of HAMB'ers together at the beach. That being said, I'm driving to PA saturday to play in the dirt. Then Sunday park next to some shiney car back the the beach. Just to make his day.

Friday night I think he has a band playing and I know some old movies, tom foolery, bench racing and blow up dolls. Its been a good time on Friday nights since I can remember. I'm sure some vendors will be set up also. If your not having a good time there is the Outlaws at Williams Grove right down the street.

    Sounds cool...

Are there many cars there Friday night, or do they mostly show up Saturday morning?

Cars come and go all day long on Friday and the museum is open. There will be quite a crowd on Friday night.

    Cool...

Does anyone know which hotel is close by if I decide to get a room? But I am strongly considering camping...

Sorry for so many questions, I am a Showdown virgin

Do a search for a room in Gettysburg or Carlisle.
