    '31 Ford Tudor, banger powered.
Converted to '48 Lincoln Bendix setup last year. Pedal ratio at 7.5:1, 1" MC.
Brakes work good, but am thinking about adding a power booster.
What is the smallest diameter booster available. Should I look at the dual chamber boosters?
    Looking for feedback.

    Thanks

    Sounds like a stupid idea

  4. A Booster just changes how things feel under your foot. It will not make the brakes stop you any faster. First thing to check out is to see if you make enough Vacc to operate a booster with that Banger Motor. My Bet will be you don't. Use a gauge to find out then check what the chosen Booster needs. Some things just aren't ment to be.

If you want an easier, softer, pedal feel you could change the pedal ratio or install a smaller diameter master cylinder.

Why would it not stop better, is it because of the lack of vacuum or am I missing something?

I added power brakes to my '56 and changed them to disc as well, it will now throw you thru the windshield, I can only ***ume that it isn't just because of the discs.

I can agree that it probably isn't a worthwhile change on such a light car, saying it is stupid doesn't help him one bit. I have a Banger A with Hydraulics and it works really well with a standard non powered master.

I have a Tudor with Bendix front,Ford rear brakes. I started with a 1 1/8 master cylinder and pedal effort was high. Switched to 1" dual circuit master cylinder and pedal feel was good with good stopping power. I think with a booster you would lose the pedal feel and feedback.
