A surprising find inside a 1928 banger motor I recently purchased. Had a stock outside appearance with a seized water pump, flaking paint and crusty oil-grease everywhere. I had a feeling something was up when I removed a lightened flywheel from it. Removing the oil pan showed crank counter weights welded on and drilled holes, evidence of a balanced rotating ***embly. Inspected the flywheel and PP further which showed they were included in the balancing job. Was told this motor was overhauled maybe 30 years ago. The machinist did well cause the clearances and babbits are in good shape. One of the pics has a piece of s**** metal welded onto the rear counterweight, thought that was cool. That's great. Usually the surprise find most us find isn't good news. You have a nice piece of hhistory. If it could only talk!
