I took out my model B enigne yesterday to clean it up and reseal the engine. I noticed that the rear main seal area had some damage to it. It look like someone put a flywheel bolt in that was to long and it bottomed out against the upper part of the rear main seal area. I can see a crack, looking through the flywheel bolt hole on the crankshaft, on the upper section of the rear main seal housing. It looks like a seperate piece of metal not part of the engine casting. Is this part still available, or am I screwed?

  2. There is an aluminum piece that is part of the seal this is probably what you see. I have a couple of them laying around somewhere as I'm now using sbc 2 piece rear seals.

  3. So, no, Your not screwed except the labor to do it.
