Projects BANGER WIZARD IN LAS VEGAS....NEEDED!!!

Correct dip stick, possible too much oil?

 

I kinda thought that also, but it's seems toleak more with the 7-1 head, so maybe too much crank case pressure ???.. doesn't seem like that much of a deal to pull the motor, but guess no one in vegas wants to do it

 

I'D really like to stay with the banger as it has lots of power and lots of cool stuff, but,.. seems like it might end up a flathead.....

 

if nothing else, it just looks cool to me

 

so heres my thinking..... there too much crank pressure...I gutted a oil filler cap,..took the foam and baffel out... it has the nipple to go to the air cleaner , it still has the 2 baffels in the filler tube, and the filler tube is for an A.. not B... I'm wondering if the reason for the bigger tube was to let more air out??? other wise why did ford make them bigger in 32???.... any way the tube goes up hill to the carb so hoping it doesn't suck oil up to there... I reved it to the moon and it hot the k&n filter clean across the garage....so I pulled the plugs.. and poured a few ounces of marvel in each hole.... maybe compression rings haven't seated???? no smoke so oil rings are good..


next... would it be easier to pull the trans and flywheel???? rather than pull the motor???

 

ALSO LOOKING FOR SOMEONE IN VEGAS THAT KNOWS HOW TO TUNE AND MAKE BANGERS RUN GOOD????

 

Do you have a copy of Jim Brierley's book? It's a good read with lots of details on the care and feeding of A/B engines. I'm building a B now with his 7:1 head and cam.
