OHV Miller setup with 97s I have messed around with jets and power valves and currently run 42s and 69 p valves. Still running on the rich side?
I ran a single 94 on a banger and it tended to run rich, I have a pair of 81's that I keep thinking of putting on my Model A pickup. Looked up the cfm on a 97 and it said 155 cfm so you have 310 cfm on a low compression 200 c.i. engine, way over carbed . Kind of shot my 81 idea at the same time since it listed them at 125 cfm, might put them on my 8BA flathead.
I replied on your other thread, but here it goes again.... I have a Miller-Schofield OHV on a B engine. As I recall it has about a 6.2:1 compression ratio. It has a Zepher 2X2 intake. Two 97's always ran rich and two 94's were too much too. I'm running two 81's. It will run 80 MPH up a 4% grade to 7200' elevation on the interstate by my house. That said I have a buddy that is running Holly 94's on an OHV that has higher compression ratio. As I recall it is about 7.2:1 He tunes with a wide band 02 sensor, tuning one carb at a time, blocking one off and then the other. The only way he could get it to tune and idle was to drill a butterfly throttle valve with about an 1/8" hole.....yep. The carbs are also set up with adjustable main jets. I'm running them on my car with just one 94 and like them a lot. I'm getting close to having another Cragar-Miller together and in the car. I'm going to start with two 81's but will mess around with some other combinations. Good luck and maybe you will get someone else to jump in with some other information for both of us. Good luck and get that car done!!! Larry
