For those of you who have rebuilt a banjo or ***embled a quickchange what is the best way to source out the bearings for the pinion? Hot rod works has them somewhere between $300-450 ish. I know bearings are expensive but was curious if anyone found a less expensive supplier.

    Thanks!

Just go to a bearing supplier and quote the number from the old bearings.
You'll find they'll have two or three 'qualities' of the bearings, don't go for the cheap Chinese ones. Use a 'known' make (SKF, Timken, etc.). You'll save $$$$$'s by not buying them through the rod shops.

Aren't the back to back race pinion bearings a Ford only thing? Might not be an alternative.

I did one a couple years ago, timkin still makes the double race cone for the pinion. At least at that time they did.

The thing is that we need to come up with the Timken number for the bearing. I'd imagine you can get it though Timken, BCA or SKF if you have a part number besides the Ford Parts number 48- 4616.
