was wondering if any of you guys have replaced the carrier and pinion bearings in a banjo rear? i think 32-48 are all the same. i have researched it here on the HAMB and found a great tech for shiming/setting up the backlash with the paper gaskets, but could not find any info on the bearings as far as a timken or national number to use to get new replacements! any help would be greatly appreciated...thanks!
I would just tear it down and get the numbers off the original bearings then just call any Auto parts or bearing company and I am sure they can help you.
yeah...i would be able to use OE numbers if the bearings had any...the races might, but i havent pulled them out of the housings yet....
ive also been using advanced search...i found a tech thread on setting the backlash with the paper shim/gasket.....i work at a napa parts store and in our manual we start to list bearings for 1949 and later...nothing earlier....thats why i was hoping someone on here had done this and could provide some part numbers.....thanks for the input...matt.
