If my memory serves me correct, a Model A rear is 55" bolt face to bolt face, and a '35-36 is 60" wide, and a 41-48 is 61-62" wide, but what are a 32's and 33-34 width??? Thanks in advance.
OK< let's get this one going--I'm at work and they don't let me keep any axles here, but... First, I doubt the numbers you have now...I think '28-41 will be very close in width, with only '42-8 being wider 1/1/2-2". Most '32's use SAME axle shafts as A, so width would be identical or nearly so--and presumably late '32-34 are same width. I can measure a '48 tonight, probably can't even reach the '39, '32's that I can reach all have wheels on them...this stuff needs to be hunted down and put in permanent tec, along with the front axle dimensions already on here somewhere...
My notes derived from many rear axles. Drum to drum measurements. Typical Ford tolerances. 1928-31 57" 1932-34 57 3/4" 1935-41 59 1/2" 1942-48 61"
Thanks guys I appreciate you taking the time to answer my question. I agree, maybe this should got into the tech section, in there with all the other banjo rear info.
