Anyone able to identify this rear end? Pretty sure its Ford. Has spring behind, wide five drums but axle bell is different and flange is only 4 bolt square pattern?? I’ve tried finding online but havent had any luck yet.
Are those cable brakes? So 37-38? And it’s hard to tell the scale. Seems smaller than regular passenger cars, so I was gonna guess a British Ford.
I have a center section with the 4 bolt flange off of a Ford e83 van. So my guess would be british Ford, inside it's the same as US Fords but ring and pinion might be super short. Like 4.11, 4.33 or 4.55 . Juice brakes can interchange, there's just a small interference with the spring hangers. Use 12 teeth spider gears. Input shaft is not the same as later banjo maybe like earlier but I never measured it. I would grab it none the less.
I had an axle like that last year. It was from a little British1939 Ford 7Y. The fore runner of the Anglia. It could also be from a little1939 German Ford Taunus. Both those models have been seen in the U.S.A. The axle @lowball27 has found is pretty much useless as it,s all small unless he is building a little runabout " special " Anglia wheels will fit.
Awesome…. Thanks for all the informtion. I was searching for an open drive rear end for my project and came across this for sale. Had never seen one. I think I will stay away from it. Thanks again
I thought you found it in a field. If someone buys that the only good reason would be if it's dirt cheap and can't find any US banjo locally.
