Are there numbers somewhere on a banjo rear? How do you know the difference between a model A and a V8 rear? Any info would be helpful!

    Thanks

On the later models the numbers are stamped into the reinforcing web on the bottom of the banjo. You usually need a wire brush to find them. 9 37 would be a 4.11 I have several 32 rears. none were stamped. I don't know when they started.

    3.54 is stamp 11-39
    3.78 " 9-34
    4.11 " 9-37
    4.44 " 9-40
    4.55 " 9-41
It's stamped on the bottom side, but if they have been run over a rock pile you can't always read them.
