I have the HRW axle conversion on my 41 p/u with Lincoln repo brakes. Very slick . In my opinion, no need to jump to late brakes, because the lockheed brakes would have bolted on just as well as the lincolns. If you fell the need to machine something yourself, machine the bells for HRW bearing adapters .
I used the '50 Mercury bearing ends and axles in my '27 roadster. made noise from almost day one. after 7,000 miles it's time to open it back up and do it right. As soon as I have the funds together I'll be placing an order.
Jseery, I'm planning on using the 7.5 side gears for my banjo conversion, did your 7.5 gears mesh smoothly with the stock 11 tooth spider gears? HRW shows the F1 and 9" side gears being a bit notchy but don't show the 7.5 side gears in their video. Also , do you have the dimensions of the 7.5 gears that you can share?
