When I was a Boy Scout many years ago my patrol leaders dad had one in their front yard with a Ford V8 60 in it. $75.00 for it but my old man said NO...Dad made a lot of bad decisions for me in my youth. Still looking for one.
I know this post is old, and this is kinda off-topic, but does anyone remember the Laurel and Hardy film "Our Wife"? In it Ollie is going to elope with his equally portly girlfriend, and sends Stan to get them a car to leave in, while Ollie tries to get his intended down a ladder from the second story window. Of course, when Stan returns with a car, it is an Austin Bantam coupe. The whole second half of the film is about trying to get the three of them and a not insubstantial amount of luggage into the car. I think they somehow did it, so you shouldn't have to worry about "two six-footers". OTOH, there were some good shots of a completely stock Bantam that would be interesting to people like us.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/e...0517422621&viewitem=&sspagename=STRK:MEWAX:IT from a well known internet peer to peer sales site. bantam bodies are SCARCE! this was the first one I've seem on this site for a while. good luck in your quest. 1934 Type 35 Bugatti bodies can be cut up to resemble a Bantam, I think. Get one of those before you cut up a Deuce Vicky, please! -90% jimmy
Austin coupes were built from 30-34 and look like model A sedan in back. Austin Bantam coupes were built from 38-41 and had a bolt on piece in back(bustle) that made it look similar to vicki..........
I do remember the Laurel & Hardy film, "Our Wive"...after they spend minutes squeezing into the Bantam, Hardy finally gets it started and as it jumps away Laurel's head pops through the roof...classic. There have been a few Bantam coupes on EBay over the past few years, and there was one at Hershey this year...hard to find but they are still out there...good luck, I agree with others, there is no substitute for a real Bantam (Tex Collins of Cal Automotive briefly sold a 'glass copy, but have no idea if there are any still left.
