Cl***ic spelling **** up at it's best. Duh! Being a little tough on ya bud, check your stuff when you post and people won't tease ya, yeah, I am real tough on this keyboard! Just jivin ya man, Bardahl sponsored a lot of sprint cars, and I was smittin with a black #8, The Black Panther. I have a old water transfer decal from 1956 for Bardahl. My Dad a great mechanic loved it. ~sololobo~
try "Mr. BARDAHL"....he ran a bunch of cars in different cl***es and owed Green Valley Race Way in Smithfield,Tx...as well as Kenadale Raceway in Kenadale - it's still operating..
Jim Green and the Green Elephant Funny Car were sponsored by Bardahl. Green still has a Bardahl emblazoned chute from the Funny Car. Butch/56sedandelivery.
A lot of us used it back in the '50s. I suppose it was due to all the hype and the fact that some really impressive racecars were sponsored by the brand. Whether or not it did any good is debatable. (Or whether or not all those racers really used it.)
It was the number one brand of snake oil in the PNW for years. I use to keep a couple of cans of gas treatment in the trunk in case the fuel lines froze up in the winter as a can in the gas tank would work it's way through the fuel line to the carb in about 30 minutes in below 0 weather. Yes we did have ****py gas back then. The Miss Bardahl unlimited hydro was always one of my favorites to follow during the hydroplane races.
When i was a kid, my dad drove in dirt track races,Bardahl would sponser the races. The feature winner used to get a black & white Bardahl jacket. At intermission the Bardahal sales rep, his name was Jules Laslow . Jules had a old bullet nosed Studebaker That had Bardahl in it, He would drain the oil out of the old Stude right in the infield. Then Jules would drive the car around the track a few times with no oil in . I guess it worked pretty good?
damn....no one can post a picture of Bill Heisher and his Corvette's sponsered by Bardhal....he was Mr. Bardhal and the cars ware that on them as well...
They sponsored Jack Conner's #65 midget also. Danny Graves drove. I worked for Jack at that time and we used to take the car to California several times a season. Bardahl always picked up the tab.
Wasn't their product in a yellow container with black lettering? I dont remember anything in a green can?? But I don't remember much from those days anyway...
I always wanted a T-shirt. Largely because Dad always said that's what his hot rodder friends wore. Hard to find out much about the product itself, Google usually just brings up a lot of hydroplane-racing websites.
I remember my dad always seemed to have a can of it in the garage when I was a kid. One of those brand names like Coke, Briggs & Stratton, Progress Beer (Okie City) and Howdy Doody! And hell yes, I want a T shirt too!!! Anyone have a source????
During mid-50's in I.M.C.A midwest circuit half miles were ruled by Bardahl Special no.2. Owned by Hector Honore and driven by Bobby Grimm. Car was always best looking and usually fastest
