I know there are some references on the HAMB especially from Inliner guys over the years regarding the Barker High Lift Rockers but they are rare. I am currently building a traditional 261 using a McGurk roller cam, original Wayne dress-up parts, vintage Offy triple carb intake and original Fenton headers. The cherry on top would be a set of Barker High Lift Rockers. Does anyone out there have or know of a set that would be available? Has anyone used them and to what avail? Maybe I'm just barking up the wrong tree but this is my quest. Warren
Warren..I don't remember using high lift rocker arms with a high performance camshaft in any of my 235 or 261 engines. Bill
I personally haven't heard of a set for the 235/261. I own a set but they are for the babbit pounding 216/235 and was told they can not be run a later 235
I wanted a set when I was putting my 261 together. Did a lot of research and this answered all my questions. http://www.inliners.org/ubbthreads/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=65001
I don't know about Barker High Lift Rockers. I know Gotha made them for 235/261. I have a N.O.S. set They came from Salem Speed Shop in Salem O.R.
All literature published during that period states that high lift rockers & reground/racing cams don't mix ...
The spec sheet on my McGurk cam claims a .460 lift so with the Barker rocker the lift would be .490 Based on what I have read here, this might be stretching the limits of everything. If anybody thinks this will work, please give me confidence. Robert; I haven't heard of the Gotha, are they also 1.6 high lift or just another version on the 1.5 rockers? Warren
