I decided to post these shots on this particular forum, so as not to have to hold back, and not be worried about various wheels on these cars, that might run the risk of this thread being deleted. A very cool person that I encountered at the recent "ESTRANGED DRAGS" that took place at TMP, ( Toutle Motorsports Park) a hip gentleman ( George ) that owns a very slick green 32 Ford 5 window, that is a nice ride indeed. We hit it off right from the start of our conversation, and he told me about this great gathering of his friend's and their cool creations, at a unique barn, down at Long View Washington. Well, this past Saturday, the 14th, the weather held and the gathering happened, at the barn , and this is the type of gathering that is all about friendship, great food, and cars and people having a great time in a classic setting, that is the stuff travel post card photo's are made of. I shot a lot of the same cars over and over, and from a variety of different angles. The light was diffused in the morning, and the sun came out in the afternoon. You can tell I used two different digital camera's, the clarity of the Nikon, and less than perfect shots by an old Cannon ELPH Powershot camera, that is about 20 years old. The Nikon shots are the better of the series, but the little Cannon shots were of the cars, as they were leaving to go on the cruise around the area, led by George. Many thanks to George and his wife Casey, and to everyone who helped to put on this great gathering, at a great setting out in the countryside. Enjoy the shots from Dennis.
These last 9 shots are with the Nikon. So that will do it for the Nikon shots and for this page as well. The next page and series of shots was with my ancient back up camera, the Cannon ELPH Powershot, which has a much slower shutter speed, and the glass and sensor isn't as precise as the Nikon. Its just easier to handle with a fraction of the weight around my neck. The cannon shots were mostly of when the cars were leaving to go on the cruise, and there is some burnout action as well. Enjoy from Dennis.
Lance Hoff's artistic talents were very evident in these great trophies that he fabricated! The food was great as well.
You can tell that this is a great group of friends that really do enjoy the fun hot rods and getting together for a good time, at a great place. Casey and George and every one involved, that contributed to this gathering, are a class act no doubt!
Well this last page wraps it up. This was a very unique, fun event, that I thoroughly enjoyed, and I look forward to attending this gathering again, next year as well. Thank you George for inviting me! I liked everything that showed up at this event, every single car and truck, was kick ass in its own way. The last two pictures on this page, that fastback Caddy, well, that was my favorite, if I had to choose from all of the cool ride's that participated! Look at what you missed @Bandit Billy ! @ClarkH @Hitchhiker @J.Ukrop @Jeff Norwell @Ryan Thanks from Dennis, for following along !
If I had known about it I would have attended. I see a "friend" of mine was there and won a trophy ! Awesome, I wished I had known. Looks like fun. Maybe next year you can remind and I'll drive up.
Hey @Bandit Billy I got a chance to talk to your friend, and he mentioned you after I had brought up the subject of the H.A.M.B. Its amazing how many people still don't know about the H.A.M.B. So I did my best to inform a few people there at the gathering. It's also cool to meet people at such gatherings that have friends, that are regular participating members of the H.A.M.B. Thanks from Dennis.
As you can see by the cars, this wasn't a HAMB event. I planned on taking my Model A but woke up that morning with a dead battery. Glad I attended anyway.
Dennis - thank you for the wonderful pictures to memorialize this event! You captured everything beautifully. It was a pleasure meeting you.
Hey Casey. It was a pleasure to meet you as well. I sent you a PM conversation. Again, thank you and George so very much for hosting that great event. Thanks from Dennis.
Thank you, Dennis! That little Elph was/is a good camera. I have been unable to find batteries! Mine will not charge anymore. Your pictures are top drawer, sir. Ben
Hey @firstinsteele (Ben) Thanks for the kind words words. I am glad you enjoyed the pictures. I responded to you in a PM. Thanks from Dennis.
Thanx for all the great pics hope to make it next year, keep us informed as to when it is going to happen.
Thank you Dennis, For the Great photos! We had a prior commitment and couldn’t make it this year. It’s definitely grown from last year. Looking forward to next year. George, Casey and crew did an awesome job of hosting again. Thanks so much! Rich B.
Hey @bymanr You are very welcome! Indeed it was a great gathering, sorry you were not able to make it, but at least you got to view the various photos I shot that day. Thanks from Dennis.
